Have you ever wondered what is really true in this world?

Don't worry; you're not the first person that's wanted to know.

Hundreds of years ago a man asked the same question. The Roman Governor Pilate asked Jesus Christ, "What is truth?" (John 18:38) As a teenager in the 21 st century, whether you know it or not, you are faced with that question almost every day. Is there really such a thing called "absolute truth"? Isn't what YOU think the only thing that matters? The Youth 4 Truth of Bible Baptist Church have learned one thing for sure.THERE IS ABSOLUTE TRUTH!! Truth is found in the Word of God. Jesus Christ said in John 17:17, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." There are many good books out there, but there is no Book like the Bible. The Bible is where we find Truth. It doesn't just CONTAIN Truth, IT IS TRUTH. And in order for you to understand the Truth of the Bible you must first understand some very important absolutes.

YOU are a Sinner

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

This is the hardest and easiest thing to admit. As a child our Dad or Mom did not teach us to lie, steal, or cheat.we did it automatically. This is because we are sinners by birth. Not only that, we also are sinners by choice. We chose and we choose to sin. Teenager, if you are ever going to understand truth, you must understand this truth: YOU are a sinner.

Your Sin has a PENALTY

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin ; and so death passed upon all men , for that all have sinned:" Romans 5:12

"For the wages of sin is death ." Romans 6:23

The reason you will die some day is because of your sin. God says that the penalty for sin is DEATH! But that isn't all.

The Penalty is DEATH IN HELL

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

We call this "The Roll Call in Hell". There are some really "bad" sinners listed: sorcerers (those that worship the Devil), murderers (like Adolph Hitler), but notice there are "liars, fearful, and unbelieving" sinners in Hell! You say, "But I didn't think telling a little white lie would keep me out of Heaven!" But to God Sin is Sin, and there are no gray areas, no maybes, no ands, ifs, or buts. Mark it down, your sins will send you to Hell! But there is really good news.

Jesus Christ PAID THE PENALTY for your Sin

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins ; and in him is no sin." 1 John 3:5

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and as God He took your sin upon himself when he died on the cross. He died, was buried in a tomb, but three days later, He came back from the dead. Nobody else has ever come back from the grave. Only Jesus Christ could bear your sins so you would not have to pay sin's penalty (Death in Hell). Though you are a sinner (see Truth # 1), Jesus Christ loved you enough to bleed and die for you on a cross. Isn't that the greatest news you've ever heard? But listen, it's not enough just to know these four truths. If you don't act on this fifth and final truth, the first four won't do you any good.

You must PERSONALLY ASK Jesus Christ to save you from your Sin

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10: 9, 10

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

You don't have to be born in royal family to go to Heaven. You don't have to graduate from Harvard Law School to understand this Truth. Jesus Christ paid for your sin and bought you a mansion in Heaven and the only thing keeping you from having it is-you have to ask! What about right now? Would you ask Jesus Christ to save you this very day? If you don't know what to pray, here's a prayer you could pray. But PLEASE remember this, praying a prayer doesn't save you, but trusting Jesus Christ alone will.

"Lord, I come to you today as a sinner. I realize that my sin is against You and that the penalty for my sin is death in Hell. I know that you paid for my sin when you died on the cross. I believe that you died, were buried, and rose again for me. Jesus, I believe that you are God. With all of my heart I trust You and You alone to save me. Thank you for saving me. Help me live for you and love you with all my heart. In Jesus Name, Amen."

Teenager, if you prayed that prayer right now and you truly trusted Jesus to save you, HE SAVED YOU! You have God's eternal, never-changing Word. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved " Romans 10:13.
